Djokovic defeats Nadal in straight sets

Novak Djokovic overcame a brief wobble in the second set to beat 14-times French Open champion Rafael Nadal 6-1 6-4 at the Paris Olympics to progress into the third round.

The 24-time Major champion dropped serve in the second set but broke back immediately and then held serve to take the set 6-4.

Djokovic will now face either Karen Khachanov or Miomir Kecmanovic in the third round.
