Host Cities and Game Dates

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States, with matches played in 16 host cities across the three nations. The dates for the tournament are yet to be finalized, but it will be held in the summer of 2026.

Qualifying Teams

A total of 48 teams will participate in the 2026 World Cup, an expansion from the previous 32-team format. The host nations automatically qualify, while the remaining 44 teams will earn their spots through continental qualifying tournaments.

The Asian qualifiers are already underway, with the top 4 teams from each of the two groups advancing to the World Cup. The remaining teams will compete in an inter-continental playoff tournament for the remaining two spots allocated to Asia.

The North Korean team, ranked 105th in the world, pulled out of the Asian qualifiers, leaving the organizers in search of a replacement.
